About Ana
Ana González de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. She grew up listening mostly to classical music, old boleros, and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads.
Ana has a passion for tangos, opera, and all forms of dramatic performance. She began singing and learning music with her mother, and commenced more serious vocal training at the age of 16 with renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and young professional, she performed with many chamber groups and opera choruses in Guadalajara and Mexico City.
After relocating to the United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present home in southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer of traditional Latin American music at private events.
Her love and passion for music, art, and performing keeps her involved in many local projects as a performer and teacher. Ana is also a past member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft.
Ana is grateful for the opportunity to share her love and passion of traditional Latin American songs with others, and in doing so hopes to impart a desire, especially among younger generations, to help keep this music vibrant and alive. ¡Viva Mexico!
